Marport has appointed Francisco J. Barros as its new general manager of Marport Spain, based in Vigo.
Francisco brings with him fifteen years of experience in the naval electronics sector and holds a degree in business administration as well as a degree in special technical services with an emphasis on electronics.
He and Marport go back quite some time as he joined the company in 2009 as an administrative assistant and has steadily taken on an increasing level of responsibility at Marport Spain. His last position has been manager of technical services.
‘The place where I have learned the most has, without a doubt, been at Marport,’ he said.
‘Working my way through almost all of the positions within the company has helped me gain knowledge and a good understanding of the marketplace and the needs of our customers. I believe we have a great team here in Spain.’
Marport designs and manufactures catch control and net monitoring sensors, echo sounders, current profilers and sonar for the world’s fishing fleet.
