Kaliningrad company Adomat has arranged a refit for factory trawler Kapitan Kolesnikov, with it gensets being replaced
Kapitan Kolesnikov is one of a series of seven trawlers built at the Okean Shipyard between 1984 and 1988. This trawler series has a 114.50 metre overall length and a 17.33 metre beam.
Adomat handled the design documentation for the original gensets with a 400kW capacity to be replaced with Wärtsilä W6120 sets with a 1152kW capacity, almost tripling Kapitan Kolesnikov’s auxiliary power and allowing main engine power to be focused on towing.
The work carried out by Adomat and approved by the Russian Maritime Registry includes design work for the engine beds for the new gensets, the installation, connection to existing systems, and wiring plans to connect the generators’ output to the ship’s systems.
Kapitan Kolesnikov’s refit is being carried out at Busan in South Korea.
