The Vancouver-based Raincoast is a high-quality sustainable canned seafood company. The company is the first retail product to participate in the Ocean Wise program, a marine conservation initiative established by the Vancouver Aquarium in 2005.
It is informed that the company caught seafood using eco-friendly fishing practices in the Pacific Northwest — the harvests are limited and monitored. The fish is carefully traced from fishing boat to grocery shelf. It means every package contains a code to trace back when and where the fish was caught, transported and processed. It even includes the identity of the vessel and the captain’s name!
