According to the press release of the company the Marine Harvest Group has decided to go for change on group level by dividing the business into tow units; farming and global sales & marketing. The new global farming unit will be headed by the current Managing Director of Marine Harvest Norway, Marit Solberg. The main purpose for such reshuffling is to focus the group’s activities to improve coordination, development of best practices and value creation.
The press release of the company informed that the new group management will consist of Alf-Helge Aarskog (CEO), Jørgen Andersen (CFO), Marit Solberg (COO Farming) and Ola Brattvoll (COO Global Sales and Marketing). In addition to the members of the new group management team, Corporate Development Director David Carnes, Communication Director Jørgen Christiansen and Technical Director Øyvind Oaland, will report to the CEO. The new group management will be located in Bergen. The Board of Directors has decided to propose to the AGM, which will be held in May, that the head office will be moved from Oslo to Bergen. The Marine Harvest Group will keep its office in Oslo with key corporate functions.
