Skipper Adam Cowan-Dickie and his crew of Margaret of Ladram have punched through yet another Brixham port record.
The catch was landed into Holyhead after a trip fishing in the Irish Sea, which meant working around wind farms and protected areas, in addition to remaining within strict quotas and minimum landing size regulations.
The catch was sold for a massive £155,000, breaking the previous record of £125,000, which was also set by Margaret of Ladram in November 2019.
Margaret of Ladram has been fishing with Sumwing trawl gear, which owners Waterdance report has given impressive results in reducing seabed contact and slashing fuel consumption by up to 30% – and clearly without affecting fishing capacity.
