Norwegian shipbuilder Stadyard will deliver a new longliner in the summer of 2028 to Faroese operator Framherji’s subsidiary P/F Regn.

The 50-metre design will have a 630 cubic metre fishroom, and is designed for operation in the North Atlantic. The automated longliner’s design has been developed by Sirius Design & Integration with the owners, the yard and suppliers, with the aim of coming up with optimal efficiency on board and high-quality living and working conditions for the new longliner’s crew.
The hull is to be built at the Wisla Shipyard in Gdansk, which has collaborated with Stadyard on previous newbuilds. The hull is scheduled to be delivered to the yard in Raudeberg in late summer 2027.
‘At a time when it can’t be taken for granted that contracts for new fishing vessels will go to Norway, we are proud of the confidence Anfinn Olsen and his family show in us by placing this project with Stadyard. This is an exciting and future-oriented project that will provide activity at the yard, and at the same time create business for many of our partners and suppliers in the region,’ said Stadyard CEO Agnar Lyng.

The 50.30-metre, 13.20-metre longliner is designed to have accommodation for a crew of up to 17 in 12 cabins. It will be outfitted with an ABC main engine and stern gear from Finnøy Gear & Propeller.
Framherji company currently operates longliners Stapin and Jógvan 1.
The Framherji fleet has also seen a recent renewal as veteran pelagic vessel Fagraberg, built in 1999, has been replaced by Shetland pelagic trawler Serene. This deal was brokered by Alasund Shipbrokers and the handover took place in Skagen, with Serene renamed Fagraberg.
Built in 2018, this new 82-metre Fagraberg has a MAN main engine with a relatively low number of running hours and it has a 3000-tonne carrying capacity in its RSW tanks.
The agreement was struck some time ago for Serene to be sold to Framherji, with the handover arranged to take place ahead of the delivery of the new vessel of the same name.
