Scottish fishing and processing businesses are set to benefit from £6.9 million in funding as the sixth round of the European and Maritime Fisheries Fund (EMFF) will award grants to 107 projects across Scotland. UK fishing company Waterdance has placed orders with the Luyt yard at Den Oever in Holland for two new fishing vessels. A new crabber is already under construction and the keel of a new 30m beam trawler to join the UK fleet will be laid this summer.

Following competitive tendering, Tulloch Developments Ltd A532;has been appointed main contractor by Lerwick Port Authority, with completion set for early 2020.
