Iceland: Value of catch January-May 2009

Total value 42 billion ISK
Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to ISK 42 billion in January-May 2009, compared with ISK 40 billion in the first 5 months of 2008. Total value increased therefore by 4.2% between years.

Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 33 billion; thereof cod ISK 16 billion, haddock 6.5 billion, and redfish 4.6 billion. Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 5 billion and flatfish catches for ISK 3.5 billion.
