More than a hundred suppliers to the fisheries and maritime sector from the Netherlands and beyond will be gathering in Urk in October for this year’s Holland Fisheries Event, held at at De Koningshof Party & Events in Urk.
Due to the very high level of interest, the number of stands has been extended again, which means there are now more than a hundred stands at this year’s event, which has seen growth every time it has been held. The organisers are also seeing a notable increase in the number of international companies keen to present their products and services to the Dutch fishing industry. Around three hundred representatives of the exhibitors will spend two to three days in Urk and visitor numbers are expected to exceed 4000.
The Holland Fisheries Event is very popular with companies in the Netherlands and abroad. The newly-expanded exhibition space, with an extra pavilion, has now been almost completely leased.
Exhibitors see this event as a real trade fair where real business is done.
‘Visitors who come to our two-day fair are mainly the decision-makers in their companies. Dozens of orders were arranged and signed in the stands during the previous event in 2016. This is a real trade fair, and are really proud of that,’ said Klaas-Jelle Koffeman, chairman of the Urk Fishery Days Foundation, which is behind the Holland Fisheries Event.
This year’s Holland Fisheries Event’s official opening will be conducted on Friday 5th October at 10.30 by Christian Democrat MEP Annie Schreijer-Pierik. Needless to say, she will address the position of the Dutch fishing industry from the European perspective.
