Strand Rederiet’s new Havbryn has completed its sea trials as the freezer trawler’s delivery approaches.
Constructed at Vard’s yard at Braila in Romania, the 80.40-metre, 16.70-metre breadth Havbryn is to replace a trawler that was built for the company at a Turkish yard in 2013.
Based on Vard’s 8 02 design, this new trawler is to be delivered with advanced trawl technology for both demersal and pelagic fishing, an Ice-1A hull, and an efficient H&G processing deck.
It has been designed to have fishroom capacity for both refrigerated and chilled catches, as well as ensilage tanks for biomass to be processed ashore.
