The owners Faroese fishing company Framherji have announced that they have bought out the company’s Icelandic co-owners, Samherji – who in turn have acquired the Faroese-owned share in the Icelandic company.
This ends a close partnership that goes back to 1994, and Frahmerji’s owers state that ‘we at Framherji would like to thank Samherji for a successful co-operation.’
One of the largest fishing operators in the Faroe Islands, Framherji operates pelagic vessels Fagraberg and Høgaberg, factory trawler Akraberg and longliners Jógvan I and Stapin.
The share that Samherji held in fishing company Faroe Origin is now also in Framherji’s ownership. Faroe Origin operates fresher pair teams Stelkur and Bakur, and Heykur and Falkur.
