With its three winches on board, Norwegian trawler Remøy has been successfully twin-rigging, but to increase capacity to work three trawls, its owners went to Icelandic supplier Naust Marine.
Naust Marine delivered a fourth winch to Remøy’s owners, Fosnavåg company Remøy Haviske.
The fourth winch is a 360kW AC electric unit with a water-cooled motor and a maximum pull of 68.40 tonnes, and a maximum shooting speed of 138.80 metres per minute. It has electrical spooling and the same 3000 metres of 34mm warp capacity as Remøy’s previous three trawl winches.
Naust Marine also supplied drive and AFE unit for this additional winch, as well as a cooling system for water-cooled frequency drives, and ATW for triple-rigging and the full set of wheelhouse controls.
The start-up and commissioning of the winch system took place in November last year, with the functionality of the ATW triple trawl system tested successfully along with winch performance.
