Isle of Man Maritime is celebrating the success of Manx fisher Isla Gale, who has officially passed her orals for the Class 2 Fishers qualification, being the first Manx female to do so.
‘It’s been a long and challenging but rewarding journey, full of ups and downs. There was a moment where I doubted myself, and many others did too. However, I’m beyond grateful I pushed through and had the amazing support of friends and family. This experience has taught me so much, both personally and academically. I have learnt a lot about myself doing this at a young age. I’m excited for what the future holds and can’t wait to see where this achievement takes me! On to the next chapter,’ Isla Gale said on completing her exams.
This is a significant milestone that marks a key step in Isla’s maritime career, and Isle of Man Maritime has supported her progress through funding assistance.
‘We are incredibly proud of Isla and her dedication to achieving this qualification. Her perseverance and determination are truly inspiring, and we are delighted to have played a part in her journey,’ said Isle of Man Maritime general manager Lee Clarke.
‘Supporting the development of maritime professionals is at the heart of what we do. On behalf of Isle of Man Maritime, I would like to congratulate Isla on this remarkable achievement and look forward to seeing her continued success in the industry.’
