Fishing and processing company Eskja, based in the Icelandic east coast port of Eskifjörður, has contracted Kapp Skaginn to carry out alterations to the infeed section of the company’s pelagic processing plant.

‘We trust them completely to make these changes to the production plant’s infeed system,’ said Eskja’s director of pelagic production Hlynur Ársælsson.
‘The work will begin when the capelin season comes to an end – assuming there is a capelin season.’
A service contract with Kapp has also been agreed, and he commented that it’s vital to have such a contract in place to provide specialised expertise relating to processing systems.
Last year Kapp acquired the majority of the assets of the bankrupt Skaginn 3X, which had been responsible for manufacturing and installing a number of pelagic processing systems in Iceland and other parts of the world – including the Eskja pelagic processing facility.
