The Hvide Sande Shipyard in Denmark has contracted to build an innovative fishing vessel for Canadian fishing company Clearwater Seafoods. This is a 40.90-metre vessel designed to fish for lobster.
The new vessel is due for delivery in spring 2027. It is designed to handle lobster pots through a moonpool, which provides a safe and stable way to retrieve fishing gear, sheltered from conditions on deck, making the job both easier and safer for the crew.
The shipyard in Hvide Sande will take delivery of the hull by mid-2026, and work on outfitting the boat will then begin. The vessel is designed to have accommodation for a crew of up to 19 and will be equipped with three RSW tanks to keep the catch alive on board and in peak condition.
This is seen as an important order for the Hvide Sande Shipyard, which continues to expand its international presence.
