Norwegian tech company Optimar and Icelandic shipyard Slippurinn Akureyri are entering a strategic partnership designed to strengthen their positions on both local and international markets, while offering a range of new opportunities for the companies and their customers.

‘Optimar is a recognised innovator in the seafood industry, and we are excited to work even more closely together to solve our customers’ challenges,’ said Slippurinn CEO Páll Kristjánsson.
‘By teaming up, we strengthen our service network.’
Optimar has an extensive background in processing and refrigeration systems technology, while Slippurinn Akureyri began life as a shipyard but has expanded extensively into other sectors, including sophisticated processing systems.
The partnership is aimed primarily at collaboration to facilitate service and retrofits of vessels. The reciprocal access each company has to shared expertise also allows both to offer a broader range of products tailored to the seafood industry.
This strategic partnership enables Optimar and Slippurinn Akureyri to provide more comprehensive offerings. It reinforces their vision and commitment to developing and designing high-tech processing equipment and facilitates cross-border production.
‘Together, we offer a seamless combination of services and products, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible support,’ said Optimar CEO Siggi Olason.
