Experts believe that the dirty competition in seafood export has made the market tougher. In order to limit this situation, enterprises and appropriate authorities should actively publish information and tighten control seafood quality at all stages of processing. Agricultural trading experts said that the competition becomes stronger more and more in agricultural product market, so it’s normal when there are a lot of markets always find the way to set up trading barriers to protect production of their domestic industries.
It is the common method to create wrong information about products to lower competitors’ reputation. The import countries are using this unofficial information channel such as means of communications to blacken competitors. By this way, even if competitors can overcome difficulties, but they had already suffered a remarkable damage with the falling of sale volume, decrease of product’s reputation, and in worst case product is ostracised by consumers.
Luong Le Phuong deputy minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, explained that this unfair competition had negative effect on domestic economy, especialy in the context that agriculture in general and seafood in particular are one of the main industries of Vietnam’s economy. It is told that “National Agro-forestry and Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (Nafiqad) will send all information regarding pangasius quality control to Vietnam Sanitary and Phytosanitary Notification Authority and Inquiry Point (SPS) then these informations will be published world wide.
