Copeinca has proved its strength by standing at second position in last year results. The company has done noteworthy production of fish oil with a 4.7 percent yield. It has produced 170,000 MT of fishmeal and 35,500 MT of fish oil. It is found that for the second season of the year (November – December) Copeinca processed 13.63 percent of the total catch. Of that percentage, 10.04 percent came from own fleet and 3.59 percent was purchased to third parties. Total production for the second season was 67,000 MT of fishmeal and 12,850 MT of fish oil.
Copeinca disclosed that on the first season of 2008 (April – June) it has processed 14.84 percent of the total catch, of which 11.13 percent came from its own fleet catch. Total volume produced in the first season was 103,000 MT of fishmeal and 22,650 MT of fish oil. It is also informed that Copeinca’s own fleet catch efficiency was the best within the top 5, the company’s total participation was a little lower than expected due to lower catch in the north coast of Peru (Chimbote) and higher catch in the center fishing area of Peru where Copeinca has limited plant capacity.
In the meantime the Board of Directors of the company was informed that Dyer Coriat Holding S.L. (D&C Holding), the major stakeholder in the company, has cancelled the appointment of their financial advisorand that the same applies to the mandate provided by Luis Dyer Ampudia.
