Consultations are open for the final four fisheries management plans (FMPs) to be delivered by Defra, in addition to the 11 FMPs already in place.
Under consideration are Celtic Sea and Western Channel demersal, Celtic Sea and Western Channel pelagic, wrasses complex and seabream FMPs. Consultations are open until 11:59pm on 5th May.
Defra states th these plans have been developed with input from a wide range of stakeholders. Each one brings together the evidence on stock health and management, and sets out practical actions for the short, medium and long term to help restore or maintain stocks at sustainable levels.
Stakeholders are able to respond online, by email, or by post, and Defra is running a series of consultation events, as well as sessions in the South and South West of England.
Details are on Defra’s FMP events page.
