According to the press communiqué of BAP, John Bean Technologies/Food Audits International is added to BAP audits. A service agreement between BAP Certification Management and John Bean Technologies, Ltd./Food Audits International will allow the independent contractor to perform inspections and audits for aquaculture farms, hatcheries and processing plants that participate in BAP certification.
The release states that John Bean Technologies, Ltd./Food Audits International is qualified to audit the general requirements for bodies operating certification systems as published in ISO/IEC Guide 65: 1996 (E). It will use BAP-trained and accredited inspectors to carry out audits at facilities in Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia.
Applicant can obtain BAP certificate after successfully completing the auditing process. The management group coordinates the certification process for the Global Aquaculture Alliance. The leading standards-setting organization for farmed seafood, the Global Aquaculture Alliance develops BAP standards through technical committees whose work is overseen by a Standards Oversight Committee of diverse stakeholders.
