Speaking on the concluding day of the AquaVision conference in Stavanger, Norway, Professor Frank Asche forecast that aquaculture on its way to become the dominant seafood supplier very soon. He reached his conclusion by drawing together results from worldwide market research. He told that the potential for increased production seems larger for aquaculture than other food-producing technologies. He expected aquaculture to achieve its dominance through long-term growth without damaging the ecosystems in which it operates.
He said that there is nothing inherently unsustainable with aquaculture, as long as the producers choose to operate on a sustainable basis. He was presented that prestigious AquaVision Innovation Award. The conference was ended with his speech on aquaculture and its future. According to him the future of this industry is very bright and would become the leading in seafood world.
