Aker Seafoods states that the appointment of new CEO coincides with the Board of Directors’ exploration of measures that will streamline and further develop the Group in the areas of harvesting, processing, marketing, sales, and distribution. Board Chairman Frank O. Reite said that Yngve Myhre has worked long and hard to build an integrated seafood company with operations that span the entire harvesting-through-sales value chain.
Reite told that they will take advantage of new eyes to assess new opportunities and solutions to improve profitability and the company’s financial flexibility. Yngve Myhre comments that he was convinced that bringing a new helmsman on board is appropriate for charting a new course. Liv Monica B. Stubholt has been appointed Interim President and CEO of Aker Seafoods. She told that her job at Aker Seafoods is to drive efforts that will make the business more robust and future-oriented, to the benefit of the company’s shareholders, employees, customers, working partners, and society at large. Norway, with its carefully managed marine resources offers a good starting point.
It is said that Aker Seafoods’ management will explore streamlining the company and prepare for a possible Group restructuring. A comprehensive plan will be presented to the Board within the next six months.
