Europe’s largest commercial marine exhibition, Seawork, opens its doors in Southampton’s Mayflower Park tomorrow, Tuesday 11 June, with the three-day exhibition opened by Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Transport Nusrat Ghani MP.
Now in its 22nd year, Seawork has grown steadily and attracts visitors from around the world.
This year’s event features the the launch of UK’s first hybrid pilot vessel, designed and built in Britain, and Speed@Seawork sea trials featuring 15 fast vessels and associated new technology from the USA, Germany, France, Finland, Holland and the UK, while co-located events Marine and Coastal Civil Engineering Expo and Coastlink Conference broaden the show’s attraction even further.
Seawork is partnered with the Big Blue Ocean Cleanup, banning all single use plastics on-site, such as plastic straws and bottles, providing alternative water stations, offering on-site recycling bins and ensuring Seawork carrier bags made from 100% recyclable materials.
Seawork will be opened at 10am, Tuesday 11th June by Nusrat Ghani MP, minister responsible for Maritime, Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), Maritime Security, Skills and Apprenticeships. She is actively involved in planning the future of the British Maritime sector.
