Zephyr delivered to Shetland owners

Larsnes Mek Verksted in Norway has delivered the new Zephyr LK-394 to its Shetland-based owners Zephyr Fishing Company.

The new Skipsteknisk-designed Zephyr replaces a pelagic vessel built in 1996. It was launched at the Marine Projects Ltd shipyard in Poland in January and delivered to the Larsnes yard for completion in mid-February.

This is the seventh vessel built at the same yard in Gdansk for Larsnes Mek Verksted to complete.

Zephyr has a 75.40 metre overall length with a 15 metre beam and carrying capacity is 2500 cubic metres in 12 RSW tanks.

It has a 6969kW Wärtsilä 12V33 main engine and a 2100kW shaft generator. Thrusters are 1300kW Brunvoll units.

Accommodation on board is for a crew of 17.
