“We have seen the European Parliament voted in favor of a comprehensive reform of the EU Common Fisheries Policy , which resulted in a new basic regulation that will take effect in the new year. Agreement on a framework for financial aid – the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund – is also in the pipeline , but talks broke down late last week , so this will be taken up again in the new year . ”
“The Baltic Sea Region is progressing regionalization really forward with the Baltic fisheries ministers agreed on a Memorandum of Understanding on 17 December BALTFISH – a regional organ of the State . In November, the Baltic Sea RAC agreed on a new membership structure , in line with the common fisheries policy in the future will have an executive with a 15/10 split between sectoral interests and other stakeholders. ”
