Westcon Yards signed a contract to build a pelagic trawler for the Tait family’s Klondyke Shipping Company.

The Rolls-Royce design is for a 74.80m LOA, 15.50m beam pelagic trawler. The Klondyke Shipping Company currently operates three pelagic trawlers from Fraserburgh. Its latest vessel, Chris Andra, was delivered by Westcon in 2006, and the new delivery will be the first of a new generation for Klondyke, owned by the Tait family, who are among Scotland’s largest quota holders.

‘We are happy for the confidence of the Tait family and we look forward to continuing the good co-operation for the years to come. Westcon Yards has always focused on taking good care of our customers, and we are now very satisfied and ready to deliver another quality vessel,’ said Endre Matre, Engineering Manager at Westcon Yards.
