Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to ISK 34 billion in January-April 2009, compared with ISK 32 billion in the first 4 months of 2008. Total value increased therefore by 6.5% between years.
Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 27 billion, thereof cod ISK 14 billion, haddock 5.3 billion, and redfish 4 billion. Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 4.3 billion and flatfish catches for ISK 2.4 billion.
