The eighth Holland Fisheries Event will take place on the 5th and 6th of October next year, and preparation for this exhibition with its growing reputation is already in progress.
It takes place for the fourth time at Koningshof Party & Events in Urk where there will be seven of the building’s rooms taken over for more than a hundred fishing and maritime exhibitors, making it a considerably larger event than in previous years.
‘The exhibition offers domestic and foreign exhibitors the opportunity to show their latest products and innovations to a broad audience,’ said Klaas-Jelle Koffeman of organising body Stichting Visserijdagen Urk.
He said that 80% of the space is already booked by companies from the Netherlands, as well as from Denmark, Spain, Belgium and other countries – and bookings made before the end of the year attract a 10% discount.
‘After the 2016 event, most of the exhibitors immediately reserved space for 2018. The Holland Fisheries Event is known as a trade fair where you can do business. In 2016 we saw dozens of deals closed during the exhibition,’ he said.
Klaas-Jelle Koffeman added that while the big players are all taking part, the organisers are also keen for small and medium-sized businesses to take part, and start-up businesses are encouraged as the event has space tailored for modest ventures in its start-up zone.
‘Holland Fisheries Events is growing. This is necessary to meet the growing demand from companies – mainly from abroad – to present themselves,’ he said.
