By entering an agreement with the Danish Energy Agency about greater energy efficiency, the company will be refunded a large part of the CO2 tax paid via its electricity and fuel consumption.
– Under the previous agreement, we received a refund of approx. DKK 1.4 million a year, so there is no doubt that it is worthwhile entering a new agreement, concludes Henrik Sørensen.
Deliberate work
To obtain the refund, the company has to work deliberately to achieve continual reduction of its energy consumption.
– We must ensure that the requirement is met through our work on energy saving projects. The mapping will also be used to discover areas where we can implement new energy saving projects, explains Henrik Sørensen.
Adjustments
As a condition of entering the agreement, the Danish Energy Agency demands a certified energy management system, which TripleNine already has.
– However, we need to adjust a few procedures in our management system, primarily how we document that we carry out energy-friendly planning and energy-friendly maintenance, says the Environmental Manager.
During the summer, the consultancy company EnergiNord will assist TripleNine with the basis of agreement, while DNV will be responsible for the certification according to the standard DS2403.
