The Vigo branch of TH Company, which was established three years ago to provide a closer and better service for customers, has secured contracts to provide repair and maintenance services to tuna seiners Vía Mistral and Playa de Bakio.
Both contracts are led by TH Company’s specialist teams based at the Nodosa Shipyard in Marín, and extend to servicing fishing equipment and deck machinery, including purse winches, power blocks, auxiliary winches, anchor windlasses, deck cranes, purse davit, hydraulic power units, hydraulic pump drives, and more.
Via Mistral is operated by Via Ocean shipowner, part of the Bolton Group, and is one of the last three purse seiners built in Campbell shipyard in San Diego. With a 78.30 metre overall length and a 13.68 metres beam, Vía Mistral has a 1600 cubic metre capacity in its wells.
Playa de Bakio is owned by Pevasa, based in Bermeo, and was built in Balenciaga Shipyards in 1991. It has a 75.60 metre overall length and a 13.60 metre beam, with an 1850 cubic metre carrying capacity.
‘Thanks to these refit projects, Vía Mistral’s and Playa de Bakio’s deck equipment and hydraulic systems will continue to provide their maximum performance,’ a TH Company representative commented.
TH Company set up its Vigo branch three years ago to extend its service offering to its customers, with a 650 square metre workshop located close to the port of Vigo’s shipyards and repair areas.
