Moving into the third year of cancelled trade fairs and exhibitions, one of Marel’s sales people took it upon himself to go to his customers.
Dennis Vos covers areas of Germany, Austria and Italy, and he decided to hit the road in the autumn of 2021, knowing that he needed to come up with something creative to give customers the opportunity to see some of Marel’s newest fish processing hardware.
He loaded a pinboner, slicer and skinning machine into a truck and set off on a private roadshow that took in visits to thirty customers in three countries.
To respect pandemic safety measures, meetings were scheduled in advance. Dennis’s customers were delighted to have the chance to see the latest technology performing in their own premises, and with their own production, providing a comparison against what they were already using.
Thanks to fine autumn weather, one Austrian customer even got an outdoor demo. Another customer who processes fish to supply restaurants was impressed enough that he bought all three machines on the spot.
