RFC plans to boost Russian Pollock factory capacity

Successful 2017-18 year for HB Grandi’s groundfish production
HB Grandi’s groundfish production at its Norðurgarður location has gone well throughout the quota year that comes to an end on the last day of August. A staff of around 160 work in production and process 550 to 600 tonnes of saithe, redfish and cod every week.

Atlantic Fisheries Fund support to rebuild burned out seafood factory
The Government of Canada and the Province of New Brunswick announced a repayable contribution of just over $1 million for Miscou Fish Products Inc. and the Canadian Crab Packers Associates Limited for new equipment and technologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their processing operations. The contribution derives from the $400 million Atlantic Fisheries Fund (AFF), focused on growing opportunities and increasing market value for sustainably sourced, high-quality fish and seafood products from Atlantic Canada.

Russian company Dobroflot is preparing to build a new processing factory for pollock in the Far East Primorsky Territory, along with a logistics complex and cold store.
Skaginn 3X lands contract for Kamchatka factory
Icelandic company Skaginn 3X has signed a contract to supply a high-tech processing facility to a company on the Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East. It will include advanced freezing technology and automated plate freezer systems for both filleted and wholefrozen fish, as well as IQF capacity. The factory is designed so that further expansion at a later date is possible.
Marel opens for business in Namibia
Marel has opened a new office in Namibia, the world’s largest hake producing country after reorganising its sales and service support for customers in southern Africa, with a particular focus on Namibia. The new branch opened for business earlier this month.
