Russian company Dobroflot is preparing to build a new processing factory for pollock in the Far East Primorsky Territory, along with a logistics complex and cold store.
The new plant is planned to have a 110 tonne/day processing capacity and the Dobroflot group of companies os planning to invest 3.5 billion rubles (€47.6 million) in this venture.
‘The project is implemented within the framework of assigning investment quotas for the construction of onshore facilities for processing fish products. The plant’s capacity will be more than 110 tonnes of finished products per day, made up of fillets, minced fish, fishmeal and fish oil,’ said Dobroflot’s Alexander Dzhefremov, adding that this will provide 1600 jobs in the area.
He commented that the pollock for the factory will be harvested in the Primorye subarea, where the company has a quota of around 4000 tonnes, and it will also be able to work with frozen pollock and herring sourced from fishing areas in the Far East.
The company plans to use new methods of transportation and to store production prior to shipping, the new plant will also have a 15,000 tonne capacity cold store. The factory is expected to start production on 1st September 2019.
