Fishermen from throughout England and Wales are signalling their strong enthusiasm for the forthcoming Skipper Expo Int. Bristol commercial fisheries show.
Among those showing great interest in the event is Andy Alcock, secretary of the Weymouth & Portland Fisheries Association, who says he anticipates an excellent turnout from the Weymouth registered fishing fleet. “I think there will be a tremendous turnout from fishermen to the expo because Bristol is so easily accessible for south and south-west coast fishermen,” he says. “It promises to be an excellent show and it is exactly the kind of event that fishermen from our part of the country are looking for.”
Exhibition stand space is now sold out, and according to Sharon Boyle of organiser Mara Media, there promises to be plenty to interest everyone at the show. Among the highlights will be the display of a GM7M fishing vessel built by G Smyth Boats.
There will also be several companies exhibiting pots, creels and other static fishing gear. For the bigger boat operators, trawl gear and marine electronics companies are well represented. In addition, there will be deck machinery companies, chandlery suppliers, engine manufacturers, and a whole range of other supply and service companies for the fishing industry. Sharon Boyle said: “We are really pleased by the level of interest in the expo, and we have had excellent feedback from many fishermen throughout England and Wales expressing their intention to attend.”
Seventy five companies have confirmed they will be exhibiting at the fisheries expo which will be held at the Marriott City Centre Hotel in Bristol on 25 and 26 October 2013.
