The performance of campaigne, “ENTERPRISES SAY NO WITH SHRIMP CONTENT FOREIGN SUBSTANCES” has been summarized after one month carried out in Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Soc Trang and Kien Giang province was held by VASEP in association with People’s Committee of Bac Lieu province under the host of Luong Le Phuong Deputy Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
VASEP told that after one month of performance, quality of shrimp material in enterprises was improved significantly, 70-80 percent of shrimp material reached high standard. It is informed that the awareness of enterprises was improved, they determinedly say no with shrimp content foreign substances.
There were lots of ideas discussed by enterprises in the conference such as how to control the injection of foreign substances into shrimp material, the co-ordination in checking and controlling, establishment of the link among enterprises and buying shrimp material directly from farmer instead of through intermediatery. Phuong request provinces to have stricter punishment for the injection of foreign substances into shrimp material. It is told that enterprises which try to violate this regulation will be revoked business licence and forced to close factory.
