The Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia, which had been due to take place in St Petersburg in September, has been postponed.
The event has been rescheduled to 6-8th July 2021, following a decision made by the organising committee chaired by Federal Fisheries Agency head Ilya Shestakov.
According to the organisers, this decision came down to reasons that include the dynamics of the spread of Covid-19, as well as the lack of guarantees as to the quality of the event.
‘This year, the global economy has experienced unprecedented changes in scale and impact due to the spread of coronavirus infection. On a daily basis, we monitored the current situation in order to correctly assess the possibility of holding an event in today’s realities. The health of the participants is above all our concerns,’ the organisers state.
They add that despite the fact that a gradual easing of quarantine measures is taking place around the world, the risk of infection remains.
‘We assume that many specialists will prefer to decline to attend the event, which will significantly reduce its business activity. In addition, the question remains open of the resumption of international air traffic, due to which the event may lose the presence of foreign participants.’
Representatives of organisers Expo Solutions Group will contact all exhibitors of the IV Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia.
