With just over a week to go, Skipper Expo Int. Bournemouth 2014 will have plenty to interest fishermen, including six fishing vessels on display.
Under-10m vessels will be on display inside the exhibition hall from Audacious Marine, G Smyth Boats, Go Marine, Maver Boats (two craft) and Robust Boats.
These boat displays will be boosted by the attendance of a number of other boatyards and boatbuilders including C. Toms and Son, Cygnus Boats from Ireland, Mashfords Boatbuilders & Repairs, Anderson Marine, Arklow Marine, and Solent Refit.
Sponsored by the National Federation of Fishermen’s Organisations, a multitude of other exhibitors will be present at Skipper Expo Int. Bournemouth 2014, covering such diverse areas as marine electronics, engine suppliers, safety equipment, netting, creels, chandlery and deck machinery.
Other major attractions include the opportunity to collect from the Seafish stand a free personal flotation device (PFD) under the Fishing Industry Safety Group’s (FISG) initiative to encourage more fishermen to wear them whilst working at sea. Seafish and RNLI personnel will also be on hand over the two days of the exhibition to instruct fishermen on how to wear, check and maintain their free devices. There will also be fishing gear technology sessions and workshops hosted by Seafish.
This year’s expo will benefit from the superb exhibiting facilities at the Bournemouth International Centre, which is easy to get to and features convenient adjacent multi-storey car parking.
Sharon Boyle of show organiser Mara Media said: “Skipper Expo Int. Bournemouth 2014 is shaping up to be a really great show with an amazing number of fishing vessels on display and a whole host of other superb attractions, including the PFD giveaway and gear technology workshops.”
