The Simek shipyard has delivered a new 55 metre combination netter/longliner to owners in Godøy in western Norway.
The new Veidar has been built to a Rolls-Royce NVC306 design using pre-fabricated sections constructed in Poland and brought to the Flekkefjord yard for assembly, while the yard built the aluminium superstructure on-site.
Built for Veidar AS, Veidar has a 55.50 metre overall length with a 13.20 metre beam and a depth to the main deck of 5.90 metres.
As well as the design, Rolls-Royce also supplied the 1920kW Bergen C25:33L6P main engine, which provided a 14 knot service speed on sea trials prior to delivery earlier this month.
Veidar has a 916 cubic metre refrigerated fishroom and is designed for a crew 25 in 16 cabins.
