Seine netters join Russian Far East fleet

Two more coastal seine netters have been added to the fleet fishing in Russia’s Far East waters.

Seine netters Avacha and Oktyabrsky have been launched in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

The 28.30-metre Avacha and Oktyabrsky have been built for the VI Lenin Collective Farm in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky under the Russian government’s investment quotas initiative. These complete the series of six vessel built for the company, as the first four are already fishing.

Avacha and Oktyabrsky are named after fishing villages in Kamchatka Krai.

This fleet of six seine netters is designed o fish for a variety of groundfish species, including cod, squid and grenadier, in the Sea of Okhotsk, with catches delivered either to processor vessels or to shore-based production.

The Project 04130 seine netters each has a 78.50 cubic metre fishroom and a can carry a maximum payload of 75 tonnes. These seiners have accommodation for a crew of up to eight and are designed to spend up to five days at sea.
