The Seafish Industry Project Fund, which provides funding for research and development partnership projects, grant assistance for innovative ideas and bursaries for students. And for this Seafish is inviting organisations and individuals with ideas that could foster growth and innovation in the UK seafood industry, to apply for funding up to £1m that has been allocated for the 2009 Industry Project Fund (IPF).
It is told that the fund is designed to support work that has widespread benefit to the industry and is dedicated to raising standards and improving efficiency within the UK seafood industry. The fund is in its fourth year and its success continues to grow as Seafish has been involved in more than 47 projects benefiting the seafood industry with a total value in excess of £2,500,000.
According to Seafish the projects have been commissioned that cover all areas of the seafood industry. They include work as diverse as research into providing a set of ‘tools’ to help impact assessment, safety training for fishing vessels, research into discarding and methods to maximise product quality/yield. This funding will help the researcher to study more about sea life and its species.
