new agency arrangements part of drive to promote health benefits of seafood and deliver better representation for the seafood industry
– Urban Niche Social Ltd retained for social media networking. White Light Media retained as lead design agency.
Seafish, the authority on seafood, has appointed the Glasgow-based agency 3×1 Public Relations to help deliver maximum media exposure and value for the seafood industry.
Seafish has consolidated its public affairs, media relations and reputation management requirement with 3×1, which is one of the UK’s top independent PR consultancies and is Scotland’s PR Consultancy of the Year.
James Wood, Marketing Communications Manager at Seafish, said: “We are all looking forward to working with 3×1 to deliver maximum value to our industry and enhance its reputation. 3×1 should be proud that they have succeeded in what was a very tough and competitive pitch process.”
3×1 are driving the Seafood Promotion campaign for Seafish through a series of advertorials in key consumer and trade publications. Urban Niche Social Ltd has also been retained to provide a strong online presence including a Facebook page (search on ‘seafood2aweek’), a Twitter account and information on the health benefits of eating two portions of seafood a week.
A new suite of health materials including an information booklet for customers, an Omega-3 ready reckoner, eye-catching posters, and a set of seven leaflets aimed at varying audiences will be sent out to all independent fishmongers. These materials have been developed in partnership with White Light Media, the leading Edinburgh-based design and new media consultancy.
Julie McGarvey, co-founder of 3×1, which has worked with Seafish since 2004, said: “It was an extremely tough pitch and we’re thrilled to be staying on board working on a wider multi-media brief including public affairs and stakeholder engagement.
“While we are passionate about the popular ‘2 a week’ and national Fish & Chip Shop of the Year campaigns, we will focus more on a value driven comms strategy with the industry to reinforce Seafish’s position as the authority on seafood. The advent of the Marine Bill is an ideal platform for communicating that the UK industry is 100% committed to creating a sustainable future.”
