Science@Sea ship-based training courses returns in early April on board the national research vessel Celtic Voyager. The two-day courses will take place in Cork harbour and approaches and will focus on integrating the core disciplines of oceanography, geophysics, benthic ecology and fisheries biology to provide a multidisciplinary ecosystem approach to practical marine scientific research. Other aspects of research vessel operations will also be addressed including vessel orientation, safety at sea and survey design and planning. Science@Sea is recognised by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) as contributing towards the continuous professional development of marine scientists.
