Last Friday was RI 568 Jette Mona baptized. The ship will be handed over to skipper Verner Møller this week, Verner Møller also owns the main part of RI 469 Juli-Ane.
The ships RI 409 Karen Kinch, H 276 Savannah, RI 268 Jette Mona II and RI 568 Juli-Ane II have all been scrapped for the FAS2 package. The skipper recieved a grant for the scrapping of the old ships which was reinvested in the fishery. One year after his order Verner Møller got the newly built ship
nr.286 from the Vestværftet Shipyard.
“We ordered a new vessel to better our business. Because of the fuel package FAS2 we were forced to reinvest our government grant in a project with a reduction in capacity and a fuel saving of
minimum 30%” says Fishing skipper Verner Møller.
The ship is equipped for both shrimpfishing and two-trawling. RI 568 Jette Mona will start with trawl fishing and wait until shrimp prices will hopefully get better. “We hope that the prices soon have reached the bottom line and will begin to rise again” says Verner Møller.
