Naval architect Coprexma, based in Brittany, is looking at a record year with more than thirty vessels either already under construction or planned for 2019.
The company is currently working flat-out on wood, steel, GRP and aluminium vessels at a number of shipyards and for a variety of clients. Coprexma’s specialisation is certainly fishing vessels, although it effortlessly turns its hand to other sectors, such as passenger vessels, work boats and special assignments, such as the design work for Brittany’s iconic heritage ship Recouvrance.
Recent deliveries include an 11.50 metre patrol boat built in aluminium at CIB for Côte d’Ivoire and a 10 metre GRP netter built at Plastimer.
Coprexma is responsible for the design work of an 11 metre wooden-hulled seaweed harvesting vessel being built at Henaff, and also has a long association with Chantiers Gléhen, which is currently building the new trawler Bara VXII for Armament Bigouden.
Coprexma is involved in projects at shipyards from Socarenam in Boulogne to a number of yards in Brittany, including Piriou, Gléhen and Bernard, and has worked with virtually every boat and shipbuilder along the French Atlantic and Channel coasts. It is currently working with a boat builder in London on development of a 12 metre GRP catamaran for delivery this year, as Coprexma increasingly looks to explore export markets.
