Skipper Robert Summers took delivery of his new boat the 16.5m Rebecca Jeneen OB 38 December 2008, and is now fishing from his home port of Mallaig on the west coast of Scotland.
The Rebecca Jeneen is designed to work whit twin rig prawn hoper trawls.
Rebecca Jeneen have a beam of 6.4m and a moulded draft of 3.8m The 3-drum trawl is positioned on the main deck aft of the deck casing. This ensures that the winchman have full control and sight of the trawl doors and net drums when Rebecca Jeneen is shooting and hauling the gear.
North Sea Winches of Scarborough manufactured the 3-drum trawl winch.
Rebecca Jeneen’s fishroom can accommodate more than 300 boxes and 5 tones of ice. Rebecca Jeneen main engine is Caterpillar 3408C-TA develops 355kW at 1800rpm, coupled to a Twin Disc 7.04:1 reduction gear to a 1750 mm 4-bladed Kort propeller in a Kort propulsion nozzle.
The auxiliary engine is a Cummins 6CTA8.3 developing 163kW at 1500rpm, drives a Stamford 60kVA 415-3-50 generator and a hydraulic pump to supply the main hydraulic system. An 60kVA generator is driven by a 77kW Cummins 6BT5.9-D auxiliary engine
