The business award presented annually by Icelandic business trade publications Frjáls Verslun and Viðskiptablaðið has this year gone to fishing gear producer Hampiðjan.
This is the most prestigious award of its kind presented in the Icelandic business community, and Hampiðjan and CEO Hjörtur Erlendsson was presented with the award by minister of finance Bjarni Benediktsson and editor Trausti Hafliðason at a formal event held in Hotel Borg’s packed Golden Hall.
Frjáls Verslun’s New Year issue was also published alongside the event, with a strong focus on Hampiðjan and including an in-depth interview with Hjörtur Erlendsson.
‘At Hampiðjan we very much appreciate this honour, and are proud and delighted to accept this award,’ Hjörtur Erlendsson said.
