Nordbank Hochseefischerei, the Bremerhaven subsidiary of Parlevliet en van der Plas, has placed an order for an 88.10 metre, 18.30 metre breadth factory trawler to replace the current Gerda Maria ROS-786.
The new Jan Maria BX-792 is a Skipsteknisk design and is to be built at the Tersan Shipyard in Turkey, with a delivery date in July 2023.
The new trawler is designed to have a 7000kW Wärtsilä main engine powering a 4300mm diameter propeller.
The factory deck on board will have processing lines for shrimp and groundfish, with a 100-tonne/day freezing capacity for filleted and wholefrozen catches.
