In a press conference Angolan Prime Minister, Fernando da Peidade Dias dos Santos and Polish ambassador to Angola, Piots Mysliwiec, have announced that the government of Poland is interested to finance the construction of a fisheries academy in south Namibe province of Angola. It was also announced that the total investment is expected to be USD 22 million.
However, Piotr Mysliwiec did not reveal the date for the start of works but declared that the agreement includes the construction of the academy, supply of equipment, as well as the curriculum and teachers to guarantee the training of Angolan staff. The Polish ambassador admitted that the possibility of increasing the amount of the project, depending on the demands.
The Polish ambassador considered the political relations between the Angola and Poland saying that there is a lot of work to be done in order to develop the economic ties. He states that the financing fisheries academy in Angola is one of the many cooperation fields that the two countries are pondering over. He said the cooperation in health sector, energy resources sector, information technology sector are on the top of the list of his mission to Angola.
