Update of information, the PFS cable installation, VALHALL redevelopment project, northern part of the North Sea.
The clv NEXANS SKAGERRAK deploys the cables in the period Cable route Valhall – Lista, Farsund approx. 17/9 to 1/10 2009 and the vessel ELEKTRON hereafter trenches the cable down to 1 – 2 meter below sea bed in the period approx.22. September to 23. November 2009.
Where trenching is not possible – at crossing with existing pipes and cables – the power cable will be secured by rock dumping from SANDPIPER 1/10 to 7/10 and in November.
During the period where the cable is unprotected, up to 8 guard vesel will be stationed along the cable route to protect the cableagainst overtrawling by fishing vessels, operating equipment at the sea bed.
Mariners are requested to keep at a safe distance of min. 500 meter to the constructions vessels during passage.
