The latest pelagic vessel to join the Norwegian fleet is the 2425 cubic metre capacity pelagic trawler/purse seiner Herøyhav, delivered by the Karstensen yard in Skagen.

The ownership of operating company Herøyhav AS is closely linked to the Ervik Group, best known for its fleet of longliners operating in the north Atlantic, as well as its interests in fisheries for toothfish in the Southern Ocean.
Herøyhav AS is owned by members of the Ervik family – Ronald Ervik, Gunn Helen Hansen-Ervik and Espen Ervik.
The 75-metre, 16-metre beam Herøyhav is powered by a 5200kW Wärtsilä 8V31 main engine, driving a 4200mm Wärtsilä propeller and a 3200kW shaft alternator. Auxiliary power is provided by a pair of 940kWe Caterpillar C32 units and a 550kWe C18. Thrusters are 1400kW Brunvoll units.
Herøyhav’s winches have been supplied by Evotec and the cranes are from MacGregor Triplex.
The RSW tanks are chilled by a double FrioNordica 1500kW system and the twin-tank vacuum system is from C-Flow.
Accommodation is for a crew of up to 15
